ARC-NL’s Submission to the Ministerial Committee on Anti-Racism, February 28, 2022
The Anti-Racism Coalition Newfoundland and Labrador (ARC-NL) calls on the Ministerial Committee on Anti-Racism (MCAR), acting on behalf of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador (GNL), to address systemic racism and exclusionary practices present throughout government and across the Province.
The main objective of the ARC-NL is to promote and support a culture of anti-racism within the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Building a culture of anti-racism within the province is crucial to address all forms of racisms, including anti-Indigenous racism, anti-Black racism, anti-Muslim racism, anti-immigrant/anti-refugee xenophobia, Islamophobia, anti-semitism and other forms of religious intolerance.
To support and respond to existing local, provincial, national and global anti-racist and anti-xenophobia initiatives.
To develop, coordinate and carry out appropriate local and provincial responses to racism, xenophobia, religious intolerance/discrimination and racialized hate.
To develop and support community-building and educational initiatives which support a culture of anti-racism in our province.
Your support is vital to keep ARC-NL up and running. Please support ARC-NL today.
