25 June 2020
Amid the Black Lives Matter movement, and instances of racism against Indigenous people in Canada, the Association for New Canadians held its 12th Diversity Summit, virtually, thanks to the COIVD-19 pandemic.
The main objective of the ARC-NL is to promote and support a culture of anti-racism within the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. To support and respond to existing local, provincial, national and global anti-racist and anti-xenophobia initiatives.
To develop, coordinate and carry out appropriate local and provincial responses to racism, xenophobia, religious intolerance/discrimination and racialized hate.
To develop and support community-building and educational initiatives which support a culture of anti-racism in our province.
